Sapak, Mrs. Eleanor A., Saginaw, Michigan Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Covenant Glen in Frankenmuth, Michigan. Age 93 years. The daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Zdzynski) Remenecz, Eleanor was born December 1, 1923 in Burt, Michigan. She married Aloysius Sapak, her loving husband of 65 years, on March 31, 1951. He survives her. Eleanor was employed at Saginaw Steering Gear during WW II and at Montgomery Ward. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish-St. Anthony Site. Eleanor enjoyed bowling and loved time spent with family and friends. She especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren. Eleanor touched many with her loving and nurturing heart. Surviving besides her husband Aloysius are four daughters, two sons and their spouses, Mary Anne Schmitzer, Birch Run; Timothy and Jan Sapak, Manistee; Susan Davy; Joan O'Brien, Jenison; Carol and Thomas Theoret, Rockford; Thomas and Patricia Sapak, Saginaw; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law including, Patricia J. Remenecz; several nieces and nephews. Eleanor was preceded in death by a son-in-law, David Schmitzer, and by five brothers, Ralph, John and Martin Nowak, Robert and Lawrence Remenecz. Eleanor's family extends their gratitude and appreciation to Covenant Glen of Frankenmuth and Heart to Heart Hospice for their loving and compassionate care. Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi Parish-St. Anthony site, 3680 S. Washington Avenue in Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Thomas Schmied, OFM, Cap., will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at St. Anthony Catholic Church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Family and friends will pray the Rosary 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Saginaw.
