Dollie K. Burns
Dollie K. Burns July 12, 1925 January 12, 2017 Dollie K. Burns, 91, of Miles- burg, died Thursday, January 12, 2017, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born July 12, 1925, in Juniata, Blair County, she was the daughter of the late Abram and Olive Tressler Houser. Dollie was an LPN at the Centre Community Hospital in Bellefonte and in State College for 28 years. After her retirement she worked in the cafeteria at the Bald Eagle High School. Dollie enjoyed playing bingo, coloring, watching Penn State football, the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Pittsburgh Steelers and attending the great Grange Fair for 90 years. She was a member of the Bald Eagle Valley Community United Methodist Church. On November 9, 1942 she married Eugene E. "Pepper" Burns who preceded her in death on April 2, 2011. Dollie is survived by her three daughters, Janice A.(Jerry) Stover, of Spring Mills, Karen E. (Jeffrey) Butler, of Bellefonte and Janette K. (Russell) Moore, of Howard. She is also survived by her three sons, Edward A. (Robin) Burns, of Bellefonte, Dennis E. (Janie) Burns, of Milesburg and Ronald M. (Cynthia) Burns, of Howard; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Along with her parents and her husband, Dollie was preceded in death by her five sisters. Friends will be received Monday, January 16, 2017, from 1-2 p.m., time of services. Services will be held at Bald Eagle Valley Community United Methodist Church, 111 Runville Road, Bellefonte, PA 16823 on Monday, January 16, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Ronald E. Baker officiating. Burial will be in Advent Cemetery, Boggs Township, Centre County. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bald Eagle Valley Community United Methodist Church, Building Fund, 111 Runville Road, Bellefonte, PA 16823 in Memory of Dollie Burns.
