From there she joined the Jadran Singing Society in Collinwood until its demise in 2004. She took a few years off to be with her young sons. While they were in grade school, she joined the Mother Singers and the P.T.A. Angie belonged to the American Slovene Club where she held the office of President and Recording Secretary. Although she was Catholic, she was picked to sing in a Presbyterian choir. After her marriage in 1941 and the birth of her first son she decided to go to White Cross Beauty School and became a hairdresser. She worked in several shops until she owned her own for several years. She belonged to many groups; The Progressive Slovene Women, Waterloo Pensioners and the Ladies Auxiliary of Waterloo where she was very active. She also helped with the Friday night fish fries at Slovenian Workman's Home on Waterloo for many years. During this time she started to golf. Her husband spent hours teaching her. It did pay off because she had several club championships and scored a hole in one. She and her husband spent many days golfing. They loved traveling to Texas where Tom's family lived until they moved to Wisconsin.
