In memory of
Craig K. Kelch
Kelch, Craig K. June 27, 1952 - Jan. 4, 2017 Craig slipped quietly away, in Deborah's arms, following a sudden bout with long-term illness...and as in all other aspects of his life...on his own terms. Craig was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, and also lived in Texas, Andros, St. Croix, Alabama, Florida, Vermont and Tennessee over the span of his life. He had lived in Sarasota, FL for 17 years at the time of his death. He had been adopted as an infant by his beloved parents, Dorothy and Kenneth Kelch, who have predeceased him. Rather than be drafted into service, he chose the Navy and became a Navy Seal (Team 2 Vietnam era veteran) for two tours and a fighter for all he believed in, for the duration of his life. He was an avid boater, scuba diver and spear fisherman. He enjoyed target shooting and was a weapons enthusiast. His recreational love at the close of his life was weekending with his wife and dogs in their motor home. His interests and many accomplishments were diverse and he carried passion for all that he loved. He is survived by his wife/partner/lover/best friend of 25 years, Deborah, of Deborah's Barbershop at Palmer Ranch, and her family; who enveloped him into their family after losing his own beloved parents. Craig was a retired Electrical/Mechanical Field Engineer, having graduated from the University of Cincinnati. He accomplished a diverse number of engineering applications over the course of his lang and successful career. He and Deborah conducted Infraspection Institute, an infrared training and certification company, in Shelburne, VT for eight years and took the business across the country and worldwide. After retiring Infraspection, he did engineering consulting via K&K Engineering until he wearied of the travel, whereupon, he kept himself busy, from their home, with Can-Do Handyman Services. He never tired of tinkering and repairing and helping people and will be missed by all who truly knew him. His cremated ashes will be committed to the sea, as per his wishes. There will be a "Celebration of Life" on Saturday, January 28th at 5 P.M. Please contact Deborah at Deborah's Barbershop at Palmer Ranch for details. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the Sarasota County Humane Society.
