Phyllis Andreson Nassikas West Falmouth - Phyllis Andreson Nassikas, 89, formerly of Worcester, MA, died at her West Falmouth, MA home surrounded by family on Wednesday, January 11, 2017. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Lewis A. Nassikas. Mrs. Nassikas was born in 1927 in Worcester, MA the daughter of Mary and George N. Andreson. After graduating from Bancroft School, she went on to attend The Knox School, The Garland School and Pine Manor College. An active member of the Worcester community, she was involved with many organizations, notably the Worcester Garden Club, Girls Inc., Memorial Hospital Aid Society and the Worcester Center for Crafts. Among the Boards she served on were Bancroft School and Consumers Savings Bank. On her husband's retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Nassikas moved full-time to their beloved summer home in West Falmouth where she enthusiastically pursued a wide variety of interests from tennis and croquet to gardening. Affectionately known as "The Mayor of West Falmouth", Mrs. Nassikas served on the Boards of Bowerman's Beach Club, Harbor Head Tennis Club and the West Falmouth Boat Club. She is survived by her three children, Kristina and her husband William J. Matsch III of Edina, MN, Lewis A. Nassikas, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Newton, MA, and Alexandria and her husband Charles Peter Skouras III of Malibu, CA; two grandchildren Victoria and Alexandra Nassikas; a sister Rene A. Camougis of Worcester, MA and a brother Nicholas G. Andreson also of Worcester, MA and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the First Congregational Church of Falmouth, 68 Main Street, On the Village Green, Falmouth, MA.
