William Junior Hamilton
William Junior Hamilton, 83, of Hillsdale, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at his home. He was born September 20, 1933 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to William and Dorothy (Sowers) Hamilton. William married Betty Girdham on December 27, 1952 and she survives. He attended Hillsdale High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Army. William enjoyed hunting, camping, woodworking, absolutely loved coaching and playing baseball and softball, and his fishing trips to Canada. He was also an avid bowler and was a member of the Auxiliary Police Department in Reading, JC's and the Reading Athletic Booster. Survivors besides his wife, Betty, are two daughters, Judy (Randy) Kiersey of Hillsdale and Susan (Randy) Cook of Flint; son, Alan (Karen) Hamilton of Reading; sisters, Diane (Mike) Tittle of Quincy, Karen (Tom) Clark of Union City, Linda (Carl) McClain of Reading and Pat Bassage of Coldwater; brother, Roger Matheson, eight grandchildren and 23 great- grandchildren. William was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Howard and Verlie Sowers; two special aunts, Thelma Black and LaVaun Munsell and step father Edward Skalniak. Funeral Service for William will be at 11 a.m. Monday, January 16, at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Reading with Reverend Al Fenstermaker officiating. Interment will follow at the Cambria Cemetery 2. The family will receive friends for visitation from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Hillsdale Hospice.
