Kathryn Gibson
Kathryn A. Gibson, age 85, of Chesapeake City, MD, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017. Born in Lancaster, PA, on August 22, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Thales and Alice Charles Bowen. A registered nurse, Mrs. Gibson was an outreach coordinator for the Maryland Health Department. As the matriarch, she loved being with family and friends. She was a devoted member of Elkton Presbyterian Church where she had numerous friends in the mission fields. Survivors include her children, Robert A. Gibson, Jr. and wife, Nancy, Bel Air, MD, and Terry J. Gibson, Chesapeake City, MD; grandchildren, Maggie Sumutka and husband, David, David Gibson, Kyle Gibson, Kelly Point and husband, Walter, and Lisa Gibson; great-grandchildren, David, Alexandra, and Jackson Robert Point, Jace Archer, and Deecan and Hallowell Sumutka; brother, Thales Bowen and wife, Sally, Haverford, PA; and niece and nephews, Susan Kurtz, Robert Bowen and Richard Bowen. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Gibson. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, January 16, 2017, at Elkton Presbyterian Church, 209 E. Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921, where visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Port Deposit, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Robert A.
