Morgan Guess Dixie Community Morgan Guess, 83 of the Dixie Community, died Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Asbury Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Dixie United Methodist Church with interment to follow in Dixie United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Guess was a member of the Dixie United Methodist Church. He was the owner of several businesses' and the last being the Guess Gallery and Gifts. He served his Country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a lifetime member of the Lacy Kelly VFW Post 3036. Mr. Guess served his community as a Justice Court Judge between the years of 1977 and 1985 and also retired from the U. S. Postal Service as a rural carrier. He is preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Jessie Guess. He is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Glenda Guess; two sons, Martin (Pamela) Guess and Dr. Mitchell (Sandra) Guess,; one daughter, April (Chris) Selman; four grandchildren, Courtney (William) Turner, Kyle Guess, and Morgan Haleigh Guess, Brice Selman; one great- grandson, Liam Turner all of Hattiesburg. Visitation for Mr. Guess will be from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Dixie United Methodist Church. The family would like to express deep gratitude to all of the physicians and special care givers of Mr. Guess. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be directed to Dixie United Methodist Church or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
