Doris T. Dix POCOMOKE CITY-Doris T. Dix, 88 of Pocomoke City, Md. passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, MD. Born May19, 1928 in Pocomoke City, Md., she was the daughter of the late Oscar James Taylor and Grace Parks Taylor. Mrs. Dix was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pocomoke City and the Golden Circle Sunday School Class. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed dining out in Salisbury and shopping with "The Girls" (her special friends). She is survived by her son, Terry S Dix(Barbara); her daughter, Joanne D. Abell (Rocky); grandchildren, Matthew (Michelle)Abell, Stacey(Darius) Dix, Kristy (John) McIntyre, Dale(Karen) Abell and Kyle(Lauren) Abell; ten great grandchildren; a sister, Frances T. Ross(Robert) and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years William Stokely Dix, Jr; two brothers, Preston and Marion Taylor and a sister, Velma Clift. A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 15, 2017 at 2p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Pocomoke. Visitation is one hour prior to the service. Pastors Wayne Ayre and Jerry Hughes will officiate. A private interment will be held at the First Baptist Cemetery. If desired, contributions may be made in her memory to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 204 Fourth Street, Pocomoke City, Md. 21851 or Coastal Hospice P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD. 21802.
