Ruth "Marguerite" Reavis
July 6, 1945 - January 7, 2017 Ruth "Marguerite" Reavis (Gilbert) died peacefully at home in Cibolo, TX last Saturday, at the age of 71. Marguerite is survived by her husband, Lewis "Paul" Reavis; her sons, Larry Paul Reavis (wife Tina), Todd Alton Reavis (wife Nancy), Eric Thomas Reavis (wife Robin), Jeffery Lee Reavis (wife Catherine); her mother, Mildred Gilbert (Burns); brothers, Lawrence Gilbert and Tom Gilbert; sisters, Marylynn Jordan and Rebecca Carpenter. Marguerite loved her Lord, her family and music. She sang in the church choir, a ladies' ensemble, rang hand bells and taught a Sunday School class. Her favorite hobby was singing baritone in the Alamo Metro Chorus and several quartets. Marguerite raised four sons while working as an LVN; she loved praising the accomplishments of her boys and their families and spoiling her grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday, January 13, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary North. Service will be held Saturday, January 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Live Oak First Baptist Church. Ken Bean will officiate the ceremony. Interment will follow in Wetmore Cemetery.
