Gerald Leo "Sonny" Anderson
Gerald Leo ""Sonny"" Anderson, 81, of Greenbrier, Arkansas passed away Tuesday evening November 1st from an automobile accident. Gerald ""Sonny"" was born September 4, 1935 in Littlefork, Minnesota to the late Oscar and Alice (Laugerstrom) Anderson. Sonny entered the US Army at age 18, and served for 22 years. His rank at the time of discharge was Sergeant. Sonny worked many different jobs after his discharge including Siding and Gutter, and home repair work with his cousin Kenny Heem. He was a very good mechanic. He spent the last 20 years in Arkansas doing odd jobs with his best friend, Tan Moss. Sonny enjoyed spending time in Littlefork during the summers with his niece, Wendy and her late husband, Randy Splett and sister, Dorothy Keep and sister, JoAnn and husband Thor of Bemidji, Minnesota. He loved his time fishing with Randy. They enjoyed many hours on the lakes and rivers in Minnesota. Sonny also enjoyed hunting in his younger years and spending time with his family in Minnesota and Omaha, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Anderson, mother, Alice Reese, stepfathers, Clyde Hall and Bernard Reese. He was also preceded in in death by his sisters; Betty Kimball, Marilyn Johnson, Delores Boes, and Gloria Black. He is survived by his daughters; Carolyn Anderson, Cynthia (John) Kirwen, grandsons; Robert and Riley Kirwen. Sisters; Dorothy Keep of Littlefork, MN and JoAnn (Thor) Thorson of Bemidji, MN and many nieces and nephews and his huge extended family. He is also survived by his Greenbrier family Kay Moss and son Jeffery, Jeffry's children Susan, Colton, Addison, and Blysse. Special friends Ruth Lawrence, Melissa Hamilton, special friends and First Security Bank, the Wagon Wheel, and Joe's Pizza. Sonny will be sadly missed by all who loved him. There will be a memorial service on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Bishop Crites Funeral Home. 501-679-4400
