Isabelle Armstrong McCabe West Caldwell resident, took active roles at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 91 Isabelle Armstrong McCabe, 91, of West Caldwell, N.J., died on Jan. 9, 2017. Relatives and friends are invited for visitation on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Farmer Funeral Home, 45 Roseland Ave., Roseland, N.J. 07068. A funeral ceremony will be offered on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Essex Fells, N.J., with interment to follow at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover, N.J. Condolences and memories may be shared at farmerfuneral.com . Born and raised in Belleville, N.J., Isabella had been a resident of West Caldwell since 1950. Prior to her retirement, she was a nursery school teacher for the First Presbyterian Church of Caldwell for over 18 years. She was one of the founder of the St. Peter's Episcopal Church Nursery School. As a longtime active member of the church, she was a former director of the ECW Evening Guild. In her spare time, she enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Cross Trail Squares and the Mountain Squares. She is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, Douglas Lawson McCabe; devoted children, Barbara M. Nichols and her husband, Thomas; Douglas McCabe and his wife, Phyllis, and Peter McCabe and his wife, Patricia; loving grandchildren, Mary Smereski and her husband, Matt, J.D. McCabe, Ed Nichols and his wife, Angela, Amanda McCabe, Emma Hartman and her husband, Jeffrey, Laura Stump and her husband, Satchel, and Caroline McCabe; cherished great-grandchildren, Maddy, Sydney, A.J., Jaycob and Sawyer and her dear brother, William Armstrong. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Peter's Episcopal Church.
