In memory of
Michael Owen "Mike" Colgan
COLGAN, Michael "Mike" Owen HURST--Michael "Mike" Owen Colgan, 55, met his Lord and Savior on Thursday January 5, 2017 after an 8.5 year battle with kidney cancer. Service: Friday January 13, 11am at First Baptist Church of Hurst. Visitation: Thursday, January 12, 6 to 8pm at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home in Colleyville. Mike was born to Pat and Billie Colgan on April 21, 1961. After graduation from L.D. Bell in 1979, he began his career as a wholesale car dealer before moving into commercial real estate development within the DFW Metroplex and surrounding states. Mike's passion for his faith and family was evident by him serving as a deacon at First Baptist Hurst, a Bible Study Fellowship Graduate, and he could always be found at his children's ballgames, golf tournaments, and dance recitals. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and hunter, and he also coached many teams of his children's sports. Mike loved life and lived it to the fullest, never letting cancer rob him of his joy. He was a loving and devoted husband, father; grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Mike will be greatly missed by all his family and friends but we rejoice knowing he is finally healthy and healed. He was preceded in death by his parents Pat and Billie Colgan, grandparents, Joe and Marianne Chaloupka, Owen and Grace Colgan and Celeste Colgan. Survivors: wife of 34 years, Tradona, daughters Brandi Page and husband Koby, Blair Cox and husband Jimmy, son Russell Colgan, grandsons Eli Page, Rhett and Wyatt Cox, sisters Laura Nelson and Patty Pratt, Father and Mother-in-law Burk and Jean Collins, brother and sister-in-law Johnny and Kristi Collins, nieces Mary Clark and Natalie Collins, nephews Justin Nelson, Matt Nelson, Billy Pratt and Brazos Collins, along with two great nieces and best friend Greg Finch, a host of extended family members. Memorial donations can be made to the Benevolent Fund at the First Baptist Church of Hurst.
