Frances Ruth Spang
RACINE - Frances Ruth (nee: Mikulecky) Spang, 83, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016 at Froedtert Hospital. She was born in Racine on April 10, 1933, the daughter of the late Francis and Ruth (nee: Brunson) Mikulecky. On May 1, 1953, Frances was united in marriage to Robert Van Spang in Springfield, MO. Fran enjoyed watching sports and was a loyal Packer Fan. She was an avid card player, including playing cribbage, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her children, Susan Eagney of Racine, Darryl (Lori) Spang, Michelle (Rodney) Tweedt, all of Franksville; grandchildren, Jessica and Kaylyn Eagney, Alec and Ashlee Spang, Zachary and Adam Tweedt; brothers and sister, Lloyd (Lillian) Mikulecky, Richard Mikulecky and Judith (Curt) Meltzer. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Fran was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, daughter, Jonna Lynn, brothers, William and Thomas, sisters, Doris and Lois and son-in-law, Martin Eagney. Fran’s memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Greenridge Recreation Center, 1412 Windsor Center Way, Mount Pleasant, WI 53406, beginning at 1 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service at 2 p.m. Immediately following all are invited to share memories, fellowship and refreshments. Memorials to her grandchildren for education have been suggested. A special thank you to Dr. Mullane and his staff at Aurora Healthcare, Dr. Stadler and his staff at the Cancer Hope Clinic at Froedtert and Horizon Hospice staff.
