Predicanda Ida Montano
Predicanda Ida Montano, 96, a longtime resident of Las Vegas passed away on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017, at her home in Las Vegas. She was born to Dionicio Gonzales and Domitilia Padilla on May 23, 1920, in Villanueva. She was united in marriage to the late Antonio A. Montano on Dec. 26, 1939, in Las Vegas. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She worked for the Greyhound bus lines, Javal Parachute Factory, Las Vegas Hospital and for the Franklin family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Antonio A. Montano; brother, Donato Gonzales; sisters, Josefita Gonzales, Agnes Apodaca and Gertrude Garcia, sons-in-law, Jerry Varela and David Quintana. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Lou Montano, Josie Varela, Dora Quintana, Thresa Aragon and husband, Joe A. Jr., all of Las Vegas; sons, Jose Montano and wife, Lenore, of Las Vegas, and Johnny Montano of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Michael Varela, Geraldine Archuleta (Kenneth), Sharon Aragon (Daniel), Joe A. Aragon III (Karleen), Vidal Quintana (Anita), Edward Quintana (Rita), Elizabeth Sedillos (Chris), Grace Quintana, Cynthia Quintana, Patricia Montano (Domingo), Ashley Montano, Sandra Newman (Patrick), and Annette Newman (Alexandria); 28 great-grandchildren: two special great- granddaughters, Demi Aragon Chavez and Heather Aragon who spent much of their time with their loving "Nana;" 13 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas. Funeral Mass will be conducted at 9 a.m. on Friday also at Immaculate Conception Church with Father George V. Salazar as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery in Las Vegas with the following serving as casket bearers: Jose A. Montano, Johnny Montano, Joe Albert Aragon, Jr., Joe Albert Aragon III, Sharon L. Aragon and Kevin Quintana. Serving as honorary bearers will be all her remaining grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
