In memory of
Lorraine Altadonna-Kelso
Lorraine D. Mayer Altadonna-Kelso was born to eternal life January 3, 2017 at Fort Washington Estates, surrounded by her loving children. She was born on December 9, 1922 to William and Josephine (Herbicek) Mayer in Philadelphia. Lorraine grew up with her family in Fern Rock/Olney, North Philadelphia and graduated from Olney High School in 1939. Lorraine met the love her life, Larry Altadonna, and married him in 1941 just as WWII was beginning. Gratefully, Larry returned to her and they continued their life together in Glenside, PA where they raised four children. Lorraine was primarily a home maker and mother. Nothing mattered to her more than her husband and 4 children. After the Glenside/Abington years, Lorraine and Larry enjoyed Florida in the winter months. Sadly, Larry passed away in 1990. Lorraine was lucky in love and in 1996 married a good friend, David Kelso. Together, they began life again at Fort Washington Estates and enjoyed all that retirement living had to offer them. David passed in March, 2010. In sweet love, they understood that they would each go home to their first loves. Now, Lorraine is again with Larry, who she called her guardian angel. Lorraine is survived by her four Altadonna children: Lawrence Jr. (Sharon) of Pocono Lake, Lynn (Michele d. 2014) of Stowe, VT, Leigh (Carol) of Wyncote and Linda (John Gray) of Plumsteadville and 18 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed the children of David Kelso: David Jr. and Marie Manspeaker and their families. The family will receive visitors Saturday, January 7, 2016 10:00 a.m. at Saint Alphonsus Church, 33 Conwell Drive, Maple Glen, PA 19002 followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00. Internment will be at Hillside Cemetery, Roslyn, PA William R. May Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Lorraine’s name to the Wyncote Audubon Society, 1212 Edge Hill Road, Abington, PA 19001 and the Bucks County Audubon Society, 2877 Creamery Road, New Hope, PA 18938. www.mayfuneralhome.com
