In memory of
Nancy Stoffan, 86, of Mahanoy City, passed away peacefully Saturday at the home of her daughter, Diane, in Bethlehem. Born in Park Place, July 18, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Wassil and Anastasia Gawra Barna. Nancy graduated from Mahanoy Township High School and worked at the former Eagle Brothers Shirt factory. She was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Mahanoy City, the Golden Age Club and the Mahanoy City Senior Citizens. She was wife of the late Stephen Stoffan, who passed away in 1979. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Wassil, Michael and Frederick Barna, and sisters, Mary Barna and Anna Falatovich. Nancy is survived by a daughter, Diane Kocsis, wife of Gary, Bethlehem; two sons, Mark and John, both of Mahanoy City; three grandchildren, Jenna, Alaina and Diana. An Office of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Mahanoy City, with the Rev. James Carroll officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. Thursday at the church. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Byzantine Cemetery, Mahanoy City. The family prefers donations to St. Mary's Church or Mass requests for her intentions would be appreciated. Louis D.
