In memory of
Dione Negroni- Hendrick Cocoa, FL Wife, mother, artist, philanthropist and long-time resident of Dade and Brevard counties, Dione "Dee" Negroni-Hendrick 83, passed away January 5, 2017 at home in Cocoa Village. She was born on January 10, 1933 in Philadelphia, to Samuel J. Foosaner and Renee Robinson Foosaner. Dee was a talented photographer and an avid traveler, having visited many countries around the world. After high school in Upper Montclair, New Jersey, she attended New Jersey School for Women, now a part of Rutgers. Marriage to her first husband and the birth of her children postponed her education. But, at 42 she received a degree from Miami Dade Junior College. Her children attended the commencement celebrating the accomplishments of a woman with energy enough to raise a family, work outside the home, and complete college. She was an active supporter of the arts and education. She carried on the work of her late-father's Foosaner Foundation after his death contributing to the Renee Foosaner Art Gallery, Foosaner Art Museum, Brevard Symphony Orchestra, Cocoa Village Playhouse, Samuel J. Foosaner Reading Gallery at Rutgers University Law Library, Community Band of Brevard, Henegar Center for the Arts, Brevard's Negroni-Hendrick Mobile Library, SOS Children's Village, and Florida Tech University. Dee believed in the importance of giving back to society, a practice she learned from her parents and instilled in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Donald Hendrick and five children, Jamie, Elisa Antonia, Mavis Catherine, Andrea Lee, and Lorie Christine Negroni as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 on Tuesday, January 10 at Rockledge Presbyterian Church, 921 Rockledge Dr, Rockledge, FL 32955, followed by a light reception.
