Betty Clark Roberts October 11, 1939 - January 7, 2017 Myrtle Beach A longtime resident of Myrtle Beach, SC, Betty Clark Roberts, died unexpectedly Saturday, January 7th. A devoted Christian, she was 77 years old. Known widely for her kind heart and gentle disposition, Betty was a favorite of friends, relatives, and even neighborhood children. Her great grandchildren loved sleepovers at "Nana's." Friends knew her as "a sweet lady." Betty was born in 1939 on October 11th at Cross, SC in Berkeley County to Charlie Lee Clark, Sr. and Minnie Lee Garrett. Both are deceased. Mrs. Roberts was also predeceased by her husband, Jack Roberts, her brother C. Lee Clark, Jr., and sisters Ann Moore and Inez Hutto, her husband's parents Roy Roberts and Reba Macklen, as well as two of her grandchildren, Brian Hart and Blake Abernethy, and great grandson Jamison Powell. Married to Jack Roberts of Myrtle Beach in 1955, Betty became a loving mother to Jack's children, Jacquelyn and Roy, now deceased. Betty and Jack had three daughters: Pat Roberts Hart of Goldsboro, NC, Susan Roberts Field of Loris, SC, and Gail Roberts Morris of North Myrtle Beach, SC. Betty is survived by daughters Pat, Susan, and Gail. Also eight grandchildren, David Hart, Jack Hart, Ashley Davis, Charles Field, Jacob Morris, Oliver Morris, Lindsey Roberts Hosenfeld and Aftene Poston. Her great-grandchildren are Miller Hart, Hanna Hart, Eden Hart, Haley Hart, Wesley Smith, Chloe Hart, Mackenzie Davis, Jeremiah Davis, Christian Davis, Collin Powell, Stone Poston, Kayla Poston, Hope Hanna, and Elaina Grace Hosenfeld. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Ocean Woods Memorial Cemetery, 2408 South Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach. Memorial donations may be made on Betty's behalf to the Alport Syndrome Foundation via their website at , or the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health at or to the charity of one's choice.
