Barbara Jean Sandvick December 20, 1931 - January 5, 2017 Barbara Jean Sandvick passed away peacefully in her home Thursday, January 5th, 2017. Born December 20, 1931 in Oakland, California to Jason and Emma Moniz. Barbara, "Bobbie," grew up in San Leandro, California with her 3 brothers, Jason "Gordon," James "Jimmy," and Richard. She met Barry through his cousin at a family dinner. They then got married and spent a wonderful 59 years together where they raised two children, Steven and Carol. During that time, they moved between the San Francisco bay area, Houston, Texas, and where they settled in Modesto, California. Bobbie, with Barry by her side, enjoyed square-dancing, traveling, and playing cards. Bobbie was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother, wonderful cook and baker, world traveler, weekly bridge player, and Lifetime original movie enthusiast. She enjoyed spending time with her family, visiting her grandchildren, going to Tahoe, Thursday pizza nights, beating Jason, Miranda and Kristen at gin rummy, and cleaning the house (she truly enjoyed cleaning). She loved listening to music; her favorite was Frank Sinatra. She is survived by her husband, Barry; son, Steven and significant other, Rebecca Mello; daughter, Carol and husband, Charles Talbott; and grandchildren, Jason and wife, Miranda; Kristen, and Emily and James Talbott. See you later alligator. You will be forever loved and missed. Celebration of Life scheduled in February, announcement to follow. www.cvobituaries.com
