Dr. William "Bill" Miller
Dr. William Miller Knoxville, TN Dr. William "Bill" Merrill Miller, age 93 of Knoxville, TN passed away Friday, January 6. Born in Grant County, KY in 1923, Bill was a member of the Navy's V-12 program during World War II. After the war, he built on his Kentucky farm roots by pursuing an agricultural education at the Universities of Kentucky and Tennessee, receiving a PhD in Animal Science, specializing in Dairy. He spent the majority of his professional career as a Professor at the University of Tennessee, rising to Head of the Extension Animal Science-Dairy Department. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years Dorothy Miller. Surviving are his son, William M. Miller Jr. (Buck) and his children Debbie Sterling Miller and James "Jimmy" William Miller of Chattanooga: daughter and son-in-law, Jo Anne and Randy Pasqua of Alcoa, and their children Annie Leigh Pasqua of Princeton, NJ, and Jody Louise Pasqua of Knoxville, TN. The entombment service will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 3:00 pm, at Highland Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the home of Jo Anne Pasqua, 307 W. Hunt Road, Alcoa, TN on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 6:00-8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Celebration Camp Scholarship Fund, Camp Lookout, 3130 Highway 157, Rising Fawn, GA 30738 honoring Bill's grandson Jimmy Miller.
