COTTONDALE – George Darrell Herring, age 84, of Cottondale, Ala., died December 19, 2016. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be from 1 to 1:30 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Wilma Boyd Herring; sister, Mildred Kent; and brothers, Johnny Lee and Boyd Herring. Survivors include his daughters, Sharon Brown (Kevin) and Ginger Humphries; son, Duane Herring; mother of his children and recent caregiver, Ina Herring; six grandchildren, Angel, Kristie, Dewayne, David, Brooke and Brandi; and eleven great-grandchildren. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. William Starnes, Hospice of West Alabama and 4th Floor staff at DCH Regional Medical Center.
