SCOLARO, Anthony J. of Quincy, formerly of Boston's North End, passed away October 17, 2016, at the age of 87 years. Husband of the late Mary (Liotta) Scolaro. Loving father of Anthony Scolaro and his wife Georgia Tresa of Oregon and Andrea Baxter of Whitman. Father-in-law of the late Stephen Baxter. Dear grandfather of Jasmine Borden of ME, Andrew Baxter of VA, Danielle Olson of WA, and Mariah Scholz of OR. Great grandfather of Anthony Borden, Sophia Olson, Amelia Olson, and Margo Scholz. Devoted brother of Dom Scolaro of FL as well as the late: Frank Scolaro, Roy Scolaro, Jim Scolaro, Angela Sacramone, Natalie Charest, Marie Dolfi, and Peter Scolaro. He was survived by many nieces and nephews. Anthony was born in the North End and settled in Braintree before moving to Quincy. He was a retired Clerk for the US Postal Service. Anthony served in the US Army and was a Korean Conflict Veteran. Anthony also was stationed in Japan and remembered this time fondly. Anthony enjoyed winters in Florida with his longtime friends and driving cross country to visit family. He will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to have known him. Reposing at the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington Street, BRAINTREE, until 9:45AM on Saturday followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Braintree. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Friday 4:00 - 7:00PM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
