Harvey E. Cooper
Harvey E. Cooper, 101, from Madisonville and New Orleans, LA was called home by his Lord on October 16, 2016. He leaves his beloved wife Marguerite C. Cooper, two daughters, Lynn Whichard (Dan) and Janet Wallace (David) and a son Kenneth Cooper (Marlene), 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Cooper was a sales representative and retired from National Gypsum Co. in 1965 and from Southland Paint Co. in 1980. He was a member of Berean Bible church and taught Bible classes for many years. Harvey was the oldest member of the Gideons International in Louisiana since joining the organization in 1944. Over the years he held every office in his camp. His greatest joy was placing Gideon Bibles at various businesses and hotels and giving out New Testaments to the youth of our city. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at noon at Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home 1600 N Causeway Blvd, Metairie, LA. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed online at Information 504-835-2341.
