Eleanor "Ellie" (King) D'Amato
Eleanor "Ellie" (King) D'Amato, 83, lifelong resident of the Enfield community entered into eternal rest on Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, at Baystate Medical Center. Ellie was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Patrick J. "Patsy" D'Amato. She was born Dec. 28, 1932, in the Thompsonville section of Enfield, the daughter of the late Leroy and Fannie (Marus) King. Ellie committed her life to her family and the many patients in her care. She was employed for over 34 years as a home health care nursing assistant and then with Suffield VNA for seven years and later as a private-duty nursing assistant. Ellie was a lifelong and faithful communicant of St. Patrick Church. She enjoyed tending to her flower gardens and was a voracious reader. Ellie loved entertaining especially for her family during the holidays. She is survived by three loving daughters, Debbie Montoya and her husband, John, of New Milton, West Virginia, Dee Thibodeau and her husband, Robert, of Somers, and Donna Panto, of Somers. She was the doting grandmother of John Patrick Montoya and his wife, Lindsay, Laura Dye and her husband, Josh, Christopher Thibodeau, Ryan Thibodeau and his wife, Adrienne, Evan Thibodeau, Joshua and Emma Panto; two beloved great-grandchildren, Ava Ann and Sawyer Dye; two brothers, Howard King of Enfield and James Wishart and his wife, Patricia, of Ellington; and several nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours Friday, Oct. 21, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield. A funeral procession will gather at the funeral home at 11 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Church.
