In memory of
Audrey Kramp
Audrey Clare (Goedert) Kramp, 86, of Oswego. IL, passed away peacefully at Alden Waterford memory Care on October 17, 2016. Audrey was born April 25, 1930 to Nicholas and Mayme Goedert in Aurora IL. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. At 14 years old both of her parents passed away and she lived with her Uncle George and Aunt Kay Kopp in Aurora until she married. She attended East Aurora High School and it was there she met her husband Don. They were married on October 21, 1950 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and spent the next 64 years together until his passing in October 2014. Audrey devoted her life to her husband Don and the raising of their 6 children. She often said her greatest accomplishment was bringing them all through life to happy and responsible adulthood. She was the gentle but firm and loving hand that guided her family through life. Together she and Don worked side by side building many homes in the area. She served as assistant to Don in his duties as Treasurer of the Aurora Fire Department Credit Union for many years. She organized and participated in many activities with the Aurora Fire Department during Don's career until he retired in 1978. She was active in the Our Lady of Good Counsel women's auxiliary and devoted many hours of service to God at the school and church. Audrey loved her dogs, gardening, sewing, listening to music (loved classical) reading extensively on many subjects and traveling with her family. She and Don often took cross country camping trips with their children building great memories for all. As her children grew older and some moved away, she and Don enjoyed visiting and "camping out" for a few weeks at their children's home around the country. She will be greatly missed and will always be remembered for her patience and for the quiet joy she brought to so many. Audrey is survived by her children Audrey (Jeff Straus) Clark of Estero FL., Betty Kramp of Sequim, WA, Nicholas (Cathy) Kramp of Aurora IL, Joseph (Lynn) Kramp of Aiken, SC, Stephen (Renee) Kramp of Aurora Il, and Virginia (Frank) Murphy of Franklin, TN. Grandchildren Daniel Clark, Benjamin and Nicole Kramp and Frank and Henry Murphy.
