THRAILKILL DONALD PAUL THRAILKILL (Age 82) Of Frederick, Maryland, retired NSA analyst, died peacefully on Saturday, October 15, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Margaret Thrailkill. Born on February 4, 1934, in Fostoria, Ohio, Don was the son of the late Lloyd and Mary Thrailkill and brother of the late George Thrailkill. As president of his high school class, Don excelled in academics and was voted "Best All Around" student. After graduation, he enlisted in the Army where he served as a German linguist during the Korean War. Following his military service, Don worked as an intelligence analyst with the National Security Agency until his retirement in 1989, where he enjoyed a distinguished career receiving numerous awards and commendations. Don was a deeply spiritual man. A certified lay minister, he served on his church board of trustees and supported many church programs throughout his life. Don was a passionate advocate for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. He volunteered as a board member for East Ridge Health Systems where his daughter Jenny received services. Separately, he was appointed by the governor to serve on the West Virginia Developmental Disabilities Council. Don and Peg never missed an opportunity to visit Jenny at Ballenger Creek Center where she resides. In addition to his loving wife, Don is survived by daughter Marie Thrailkill of Catonsville, Maryland; daughter Becky Duvall and her husband Bobby of The Villages, Florida; son Paul Thrailkill and his wife Christy of New Market, Maryland; and daughter Jennifer Thrailkill of Frederick, Maryland; he was the grandfather of seven and great-grandfather of three. The family will receive friends at Pikeside United Methodist Church, 25 Paynes Ford Rd, Martinsburg, WV 25405, on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 from 12 Noon until the time of the service at 1 p.m. Interment will be private.
