Lelia Lee Winslow Senter
Lelia Lee Winslow Senter SALISBURY - Lelia Lee Winslow Senter, 85, of Salisbury, was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at the home of her daughter. Born in Perquimans County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Allen Winslow and Atlessa Leanna Winslow. Mrs. Senter was a graduate of the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro at the age of 22. She also received a Bachelor of Art's Degree with a Masters in Elementary Education from the East Carolina College in Greenville at the age of 24. She was an elementary school teacher in Lake Wales, FL, taught second grade alongside her mother in NC. She enjoyed creating oil paintings and art work. She traveled across the United States and Maritime Provinces of Canada with her mother. She dearly loved her family and made many trips to North Carolina for visits and family reunions. She played piano and taught Sunday School at Delmar Wesleyan Church for over 30 years. She raised her girls and returned to substitute teaching in Salisbury, MD for several years, prior to retiring. She graciously served alongside her late husband, Rev. Graham Franklin Senter, who was an Ordained Elder of the Wesleyan Church. During that time, he pastored 10 churches, while ministering in Maryland. Together, they made an impact on many lives. She is survived by three daughters, Marilee Senter-Wells & husband, Corey of Oak Hills, CA, Lelia Natalie Cavaleri & husband, Kenny of Fruitland, and Malindie Lee Kirby & husband, Charles of Delmar, DE; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; and a brother, Marshall Allen Winslow & wife, Phyllis of Virginia Beach, VA. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 6pm at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury with a visitation beginning at 4pm. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 12 noon at the Bagley Swamp Cemetery in Hertford, NC. Rev. James Hitch will be officiating in all services.
