Passed away peacefully late Saturday night on October 15, 2016 at 11:50 pm at Sterling Place Nursing Home at the age of 81. She was married to the late Walter Aro, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memories, 3 daughters, Cynthia Aro Williams, Sharon Ann Aro, and Gail Denise Brown; 1 stepdaughter, Debra Ann Duncan; 2 sons, Randy Ray Aro and Rickey Lee Aro; 2 brothers, Ronald Richardson and Donald Richardson; 2 sister-in-laws, Sharon Richardson and Gloria Zanders; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her mother, Ida Mae Zanders; stepfather, Arthur Zanders; 2 son-in-laws, Albert Williams and Claiborne Brown; brother, Oris Zanders. Kenneth Paul Garrett, Sr. was like a son, good friend and an advisor to her over the years. He always made her laugh. Religious services will be on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 1:00 pm, Hall's Celebration Center, 9348 Scenic Highway, Baton Rouge, LA. Reverend Ned Christy, officiating. Interment Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine, LA. The family would like to express their gratitude to all of the staff at Sterling Place Nursing Home who assisted in her care.
