Bernard was born on December 4, 1925 and passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016. Bernard was a resident of Carleton, Michigan at the time of his passing. Bernie served in the European Theater while serving his country in U.S. Army during World War II from March 29 1944 until being honorably discharged on June 3 1946. He was married to Wilma. Family and friends may visit from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Rupp Funeral Home. He will lie in state at 10:30 a.m. until services at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church. Rev. Jeffrey Heimsoth pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery with military honors provided by VFW Post 1138 Monroe. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church or Maybee VFW Post 4361.
