Marcel Schott
Schott, Marcel Marcel T. Schott, 83, New Franken, entered into eternal rest at his home, with his loving wife at his side, on Tuesday, October 18, 2016. He was born in New Franken on January 13, 1933 to the late Theodore and Florence Schott. After graduating from Central Catholic High School, he was married to the former Eleanor Reimer on August 28, 1954. Marcel was employed with Liebmann Packing Company in his younger years and later worked for Tosca Limited until retirement. As a young man, Marcel enjoyed playing saxophone in a polka band. At the family cottage, he liked spending time with his family and also enjoyed some of his favorite pastimes of fishing, cutting the lawn, and cooking. His creative solutions for broken toys and other repairs earned Marcel the name "Grandpa Fix It". Marcel was blessed to be surrounded by his loving family and particularly cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marcel will be sadly missed by his wife, Eleanor; children, Jean (Tim) Clark, Linda (Dave) Bisick, Sandy (Tom) Rentmeester, Gary (Cheryl) Schott, Sherry (Mike) Zellner, Ellen Nowak (Juan); 13 grandchildren, Jeremy (Candy) and Brock Bisick, Eric (Megan) and Kim Rentmeester, Gary (Sarah) and Zachary (Lauren) Schott, Carrie (Steve) Libert, Mindy (Eric) Cerniglia, Aaron (Ashley) and Michael Zellner (Allie), John, Brooke, and Blake Nowak; 8 great grandchildren, Chase and Ty Bisick, Anna and Alaina Rentmeester, August, Georgina and Esmeralda Schott, and Milo Libert; 2 brothers, Richard and Cletus Schott; 5 sisters, Marion (Robert) Lardinois, Imelda (Richard) Bertrand, Roselyn Vanden Plas, Rosalie (Ed) Kinjerski, and Lorraine Loberger; a brother-in-law and 2 sisters-in-law, Larry Williquette, Donna Schott, and Bonnie Petri; and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents Marcel was preceded in death by an infant son, Paul; a granddaughter, Amanda Zellner, parents-in-law, Frank and Margaret Reimer; 3 sisters, Gen (Harry) Pigeon, Bernadette (Orville) Van Lieshout, Ethyl (Alvin) Linzmeier; 2 brothers, Hilary (Delores) Schott, Robert Schott; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Albert Vanden Plas, Leonard Loberger, Frank Reimer Jr., Bernadine Schott, Grace Schott, Evelyn (Vernon) Ferron, Anna (Robert) Miller, and Grace Williquette. Visitation will be at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, 2016. A Parish Wake will be held at 6:30 on Sunday at the funeral home. Visitation will continue at St. Kilian Catholic Church, 2508 Saint Kilian Rd., from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass on Monday, October 24, 2016. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at church with Rev. Carlo Villaluz officiating. Entombment will be in Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
