Patrick Eugene Morgan October 12, 1946 - October 13, 2016 Visalia Patrick Eugene Morgan passed away on Thursday Morning October 13, 2016. He had just turned 70 the previous day. Patrick lived his life with honor and dignity and integrity. After graduating from Pasadena High School he served his Country in the United States Navy. While in the Navy he decided that law enforcement would be his career path. Upon exiting the Navy at the age of 21 he became a sworn officer with the Monrovia Police Department. In 1972 he made a lateral transfer to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. He served the LASD and the citizens of Los Angeles in a variety of Capacities. He served on the Special Enforcement Bureau (SWAT), Crime Impact Team, and for the last 7 years of his career he served as a detective in the Homicide Bureau. Pat was finally forced to retire from a career he loved due to injuries he suffered while on the SWAT team. The injuries were severe enough that he had to endure two knee replacement surgeries and suffered multiple other ailments that followed him into his retirement years. Once retired Patrick became devoted to his family and took care of his children on a full time basis. In 1998 he moved to Visalia California where he lived until his passing. Patrick is survived by four children and one step child Shannon Jester, Kelly Morgan, Nicholas Morgan, Brittany Morgan and Madison Soltesz. His wife Juelmarie Morgan. His four grandchildren Tessa Chapman, Taylor Chapman, Cayden Morgan, and Aubrey Morgan. Patrick is also survived by his mother, Elouise Berlin and his sister Patricia Morgan-Owens. Patrick was beloved by his family and always wanted to make sure every gathering was special. He always cooked for everyone and was generous to a fault with his time and energy. Pat was affectionately known as "O" Pat and Poppa Pat by the children in the family and his nickname from his Law Enforcement days was "Bumper". Pat loved the outdoors. A favorite pastime of his was boating and more importantly taking the family boating. He was an avid fan of oldies music. Patrick was a hero to all that knew him both in his professional career and his personal life. For he was just an ordinary person who quite often was faced with extraordinary circumstances and he acted with courage, honor and self-sacrifice.
