In memory of
NANCY STAHL WHITE
WHITE, NANCY STAHL Nancy Stahl White, 83, of Milford, Connecticut, formerly of Yonkers, New York, died peacefully on October 17th, 2016 at Yale New Haven Hospital. Born July 7th, 1933, in Yonkers, she is predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Nancy (McCormick) Stahl of Yonkers, and her late husband of 57 years, Christopher F. White. Nancy graduated from Gorton High School and attended Elizabeth Seton College, both in Yonkers, New York, where she later worked as a faculty secretary. In 1956, Nancy married her beloved husband, Christopher F. White, and raised two daughters in Yonkers, where she was an active member of the St. Dennis Mother’s Club. Later, Nancy retired to Milford, Connecticut, where she had spent countless happy summers on the beach as a child, and later, as a mother herself. She was a member of the Milford Hospital Auxiliary, and was a member of the Legion of Mary at Saint Mary Church, where she was a parishioner for over thirty years. She also served as a longtime clerk for the Bayview Improvement Association, where she worked to support the beach community that was so important to her. Nancy is survived by her two daughters, Kathleen (Thomas) Ferrara and Nancy (John) Lott; three grandchildren, Lindsay (Daniel) Ferrara Renstrom, Caitlin Lott, and John Lott; one great-granddaughter, Lucy Grace Renstrom; a sister, Constance Mahler; cousin Ellyn (James) Doris; many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews, a circle of dear friends, and her rescue chihuahua, Finnegan. She was predeceased by her cousin, John McCormick. Nancy was always proud of the cities she lived in, Milford and Yonkers, but her heart was truly at home on the beach, and she shared this love of the sand and sea with her daughters and grandchildren, who she loved to watch play in the waves on Bayview Beach every summer. Nancy was an engaged and joyful grandmother, never missing a recital or game, and also enjoyed an active and full social life, going to church, lunch, movies, and Broadway shows with her longtime friends. She is remembered as outgoing and friendly, welcoming and loving, and in possession of a wonderful sense of humor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Mary Church, 70 Gulf Street, Milford, CT (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Interment to follow at Saint Mary Cemetery, Buckingham Ave, Milford, CT. Friends and family may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT 06460.
