McNulty, John Joseph John Joseph "Jake" McNulty, 89 years old, of Nanuet, NY died suddenly on October 16, 2016. He was born to Joseph and Mae (O'Donnell) on May 31, 1927 in Nyack, NY. He graduated from Nyack High School in May, 1945 and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was awarded the American Theatre Medal and the Victory Medal. Following his honorable discharge, he attended Ithaca College and Columbia University. He worked for the New York Telephone Company for 38 years and retired in 1985. He was a member of the New York Telephone Pioneer's Club. He was active as a track and field and swimming official for many years. He was also a member of the Nanuet High School Black & Gold Club and was the organizer for the first "Father's Day Run." He was a member of St. Aedan's Church for its entire 50 years, was an active Knights of Columbus, Piermont, NY and was an honorary member of the Upper Nyack Empire Hook and Ladder Fire Dept. Jake was an amazing and kind man who truly loved his family and was well loved by his family and community. He had a twinkle in his eye, a great story to tell, and always lended a helping hand. He enjoyed keeping up on current events, watching sports, reading, and travelling. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years (October 16, 1954), Margaret (Scott) McNulty. They had five children, Kathleen (Tom) Serio of Glen Rock, NJ; John (Sue) McNulty of Monroe, NJ; Diane (Jim) Wenke of Blauvelt, NY; Lisa (David) McCord of Hampton Cove, AL; and Colleen Pegley of Cornwall, NY. He was a loving "Pop" to their fifteen grandchildren - Thomas, Michael (Jada), and Matthew Serio; Kaitlyn and Sean McNulty; Laura, Sarah, and Bryan Wenke; Cynthia, Caroline, Christina, Marie Kathryn, and JP McCord; and Darrin and Hailey Wilkinson. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Katheryne "Honey" (Kaz) Kazemi of Chatham, MA and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Aedan's Church in Pearl River, NY on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 10:00 AM. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc.
