Bernard C. Beauchamp 1926 - 2016 WATERTOWN - Bernard C. Beauchamp, 89, of Middlebury Rd, died Saturday October 15, 2016 at the Watertown Convalarium surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Theresa (Riordan) Beauchamp. Bernie was born in North Adams Massachusetts on December 7, 1926, son of the late Leon M. and Bertha (Giroux) Beauchamp. He graduated from Massachusetts State Teachers College and UCONN with a Masters Degree. He was a retired National Guard veteran serving time in WWII and as a company commander of the Waterbury National Guard. Bernie was very involved in the Town of Watertown as a science teacher at Swift for 5 years and then the principal of Baldwin School for 37 years. He was a lifetime member of the Lions Club and LOFPC men's group, the Watertown Fire District for 30 years, the Republican Town Committee, the Bicentennial Committee, and served on the Board of Education. He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church, a member of the Watertown Golf Club, and a elected Watertown Town Councilman, along with being involved in many other civic groups and organizations. Bernie enjoyed spending his free time playing cards, boating, golfing, vacationing, and supporting his favorite sports teams, the Boston Celtics, Red Sox, New England Patriots and the UCONN men's basketball team. Above all his most fulfilling enjoyment came from spending every available moment with his seven grandchildren. Bernie leaves behind his four children Steven P. Beauchamp of New York, NY; David C. Beauchamp and his wife, Brenda, of Brookline, NH; Jeffery B. Beauchamp of Bristol, CT, Jodie Beauchamp of Bristol CT; and Michele T. Yerger and her husband, Robert, of Watertown. His grandchildren Morgan, Justin, Trevor, Kaley, Alyssa, Kirsten, and Brendan; and many nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St John the Evangelist Church, 574 Main Street. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial is private and at the convenience of the family.
