Josephine Ann Puttler October 23, 1915 - October 15, 2016 Santa Ana, CA Josephine A. Puttler of Santa Ana, California, left this world peacefully and comfortably Saturday evening, October 15, 2016 after a brief illness. She was one week short of her 101st birthday. Known as "Grandma Jo," "Aunt Jo", or just "Grandma", she was born Josephine Ann Davis on October 23, 1915, in Raleigh, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Coy Lee and Essie H. Hockaday Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Simpson Daniel (S.D.) Puttler, on May 18, 1984 and her youngest daughter Betty Lee Puttler Larson on April 24, 2007. She was the last remaining of the eight Davis children, preceded by her three sisters, Lacy Barr of Hagerstown, Maryland; Esther Barr of Baltimore, Maryland; Peggy Prince of Warrenton, North Carolina; along with her four brothers, Newman, Amos, Marvin and Earl Davis, all of Raleigh, North Carolina. She is survived by her oldest daughter Jo Ann Puttler Farrar of Irvine; seven grandsons, Dan Farrar of Murrieta, California; Scott Farrar of Rehoboth, Massachusetts; Lance Larson of Santa Ana, California; Greg Larson of San Rafael, California; Doug Farrar of Oakland Township, Michigan; Gary Larson of San Francisco, California; Randy Larson of Huntington Beach, California; one granddaughter Kimberly Farrar Sinnott of Dallas Texas; 13 great-grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held at her daughter's home in Irvine, California for family members
