Frank Martinez Knoxville, TN Frank Martinez, 66, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2016 under hospice care at West Moreland Health and Rehab Center in Knoxville. Frank was born in Las Cruces, New Mexico on July 24, 1950. He graduated from Alisal High School and Hartnell College in Salinas, California where he starred in basketball making the "Martinez" name well known in the Salinas Valley basketball leagues. He worked as a Production Supervisor at Monterey Mushrooms plants in California, Texas and finally in Tennessee. He loved sports and was devoted to his Catholic spirituality. Frank is survived by his two children, Leanna and Shawn; his father, Calistro Martinez; six brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his two sons, Frank, Jr. and Ruben; his mother, Petra Martinez; and two brothers, Miguel and George Martinez. The family witnessed an extraordinarily gracious outpouring of love, friendship and gratitude to our brother throughout his final days by the Monterey Mushrooms, Inc. family and fellow parishioners at St. Thomas, which gave Frank and his family great consolation and peace. Frank's family is deeply grateful for this gift. Visitation will be held at 6:00 p.m. followed by the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on October 18 at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on October 19 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Lenoir City. Frank's brother, Rev.
