In memory of
Mary Ellen (Blakely) Wilwohl
Mary Ellen (Blakely) Wilwohl, of Erie, age 83, returned peacefully to our Lord in the early morning of Sunday, October 16th, at Elmwood Gardens. She was born in Erie, on September 21, 1933, the daughter of the late James R. and Agnes E. Blakely. Mary was a graduate of Villa Maria Grade School and Villa Maria Academy. A lifelong Erie resident, she worked for years at Marx Toys as a clerk, as well as an office secretary to Dr. Ralph Larson, following the death of her husband. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. "Bud" Wilwohl and brothers, James and Gerald Blakely. A loving mother, she is survived by five children: Mark (Luann) of Erie, John (Colleen) of Erie, Dan (Elisa) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Rick (Mary Ellen "Mimi") of Erie, and Mary Ann Testa (Mark) of Sicklerville, N.J. She was also the adored grandmother of ten grandchildren: Erica, Brittany, JR, Matthew, Laura, Kayla, Brian, Hailey, Carly and Eddie, and the great-grandmother of a great-granddaughter, Isabella. She was blessed with a large family and many friends, but particularly cherished the friendship and support of Joe and "Red" Holland, Cathy and Ronnie Little, Joe and Carol Cerami, and Bob and Gerrie Demarco, whom she loved to go to dinner with at the Oakwood Café and follow Prep athletics. She was an avid cook and baker, and famous for a twisted sense of humor and her mixology skills. Friends may call on Wednesday at the Francis V.
