Emma Jane Allen
Emma Jane Allen July 30, 1921 - Oct. 13, 2016 Resident of Santa Cruz On October 13, 2016, Emma Jane Allen, the world's wealthiest woman passed away at the age of 95. She had little money, but her life was rich with love. A memorial service will be held at First Church of the Nazarene in Santa Cruz at 2:00pm on Saturday, November 12, 2016. Emma Jane, widow of George Allen, was born in Moxee Washington on July 30, 1921, and has been a resident of Santa Cruz since 1946. She is survived by her nine children; Judy Allen, Jerry Allen (Dorothy), Jacque Norkoli, Jim Allen (Denise), Jeff Allen, Jon Allen (Jo Ann), Jolene Hoffman (Jeff), Janet Snodgrass (Chris), and Jill Prater (Curt). She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and numerous children of the heart that passed through her door. Although employed for several years as an answering service operator, her real love was cooking for her family, and Sunday was the most important day in her week. This was her day of worship, and the day that many family members and friends gathered around the table for dinner. She could always make a meal stretch to feed extras. The family would like acknowledge and thank the staff members of Pacific Coast Manor, who provided loving care and attention above and beyond their job requirements. Emma Jane was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Santa Cruz and asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the First Church of the Nazarene Compassionate Ministries in Santa Cruz.
