In memory of
MARIN KOVACICH Marin Kovacich, 75, of Henderson, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at 10:26 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016 at Sunrise Hospital. He was born April 28, 1941, in Croatia (formerly Yugoslavia) and came to the United States in 1961 to St. Louis to live with his great-uncle, Jakov Kovacic. In 1963, he moved to San Pedro, Calif. to escape the bad weather of St. Louis. He resided there until 1985, moving to Las vegas and Henderson in 1990. He was a carpenter for over 50 years and for the last 30 years as a civil service employee for the federal government, 11 of those years at Long Beach Naval Shipyard in Long Beach, Calif. and 19 years at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas. He was preceded in death by his father, Ante Kovacic; mother, Danica Kovacic; sister, Dragica Brkic; and brothers, Jakov and Tomislav Kovacic. He is survived by his wife, of 50 years, Sandra Kay Kovacich; daughter, Diana Kay Kovacich; son, Scott Marin Kovacich; daughter-in-law, Carielynn Kovacich; and his beloved grandson, Bridger Marin Kovacich; from the Netherlands, sister, Ivanka Van Beek and brother-in-law, Theo; from Croatia, brother, Ljubo Kovacic and sister-in-law, Gordana; sister-in-law, Nada Kovacic (the wife of deceased brother, Tomislav); sister, Marija Pastar Kovacic and brother-in-law, Nedjelko; sister, Jakica Bartulovic and brother-in-law, Josko; family on his wife's side, brothers-in-law, Bill Wilson, Bob Wilson, Robert Martin and sister-in-law, Barbara. He had numerous nephews and nieces in the United States, the Netherlands and Croatia. Viewing will be 10-11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, with services following, both at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015. Graveside service will be at noon at Palm Memorial Park-Henderson.
