In memory of
Mrs. Betty Jean (Bryant) Lee
Mrs. Betty Jean Bryant Lee, age 72, of Bulloch County passed to her heavenly home on October 16, 2016, surrounded by her sister Janice, nieces and nephews at Brown's Nursing Home, under the care of Southern Care Hospice in Statesboro, Ga. Betty was born on October 23, 1943, to her loving parents, Wilbur Cleo and Estelle Davis Bryant, of Portal. Betty attended Portal High School, and after high school, she worked in the manufacturing and retail industry for many years before becoming a homemaker. Betty had an avid love for animals. She would adopt and care for homeless animals as her own. Betty also loved to crochet and travel. Betty was of the Pentecostal faith and attended Aaron Church of God through Brown's Nursing Home, where her faith and love for the Lord grew strong. She loved the Lord, and she loved her family deeply. She had a heart of gold, she always forgave, never held a grudge and never spoke negative of anyone. Betty is preceded in death by both of her parents; three brothers, Doy, J.R. and Donald Bryant, all of Portal; two brothers-in-law, Kim Lane and Bill McCullough, also of Portal; and one grandson, Robbie Terrell of Rincon. Betty is survived by her youngest sister, Janice Bryant Lane, who assisted in her caregiving for several years; two daughters, Wanda Terrell of Rincon and Vicky Walden of Louisville; six grandchildren and several great-grands; one sister, Joyce McCullough, and one brother, Pat Davis, both of Portal; two close sisters-in-law, Diane Bryant and Patty Bryant, both of Portal; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home in Metter. The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. in the chapel with the Rev. Roy Jarriel officiating. Interment will be at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, where Betty wished to be laid to rest with her parents. Pallbearers will be Betty's nephews: Ronnie Bryant, Vince Davis, Travis Lane, Griff Donaldson, Phillip Bryant and Terry Bryant.
