Douglas Brandon Smith Born in Shawmut, Alabama on January 11, 1923 - Died on September 23, 2016. Mr. Smith was born in Alabama and moved to Florida to work on the Shuttle Program.  He was a mechanic in aerospace for many years until his retirement.  He served with the US Army in World War II and entertained the troops playing his violin in a band. He played his violin in many bands through the years.  He was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Titusville, Florida. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife Myrtle Smith (Port St. John), daughter Brenda and son-in-law Sid Rutherford (Apple Valley, Ca) grandsons and granddaughter-in-laws Keith and Diane Rutherford, (Knoxville, Alabama), Joel and Kathi Rutherford (Moreno Valley, Ca), Steve and Jenifer Rutherford, great-grandchildren Maria, Julianne, and James Acorn and Aaron Rutherford (Corona, Ca).  Brother-in-law and sister-in-law Allen and Pauline Stearns (Panama City, Florida) and sister-in-law Mary Stearns (Gadsden, Alabama). The graveside service was held on September 29, 2016 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Titusville, Florida.
