Ida Mae Drago
Ida Mae Drago was born to Grace and Vincent Drago on April 3, 1930 and passed away on October 16, 2016. She is survived by: her brother Billy and children( David, Cindy, Gene, Lisa, Jon, Dane); brother Tom (wife, Carmel and children (Molly, Dayna, Deesie, Derrin); sister Beverly Louise Vicaro (children Kim, Missy); brother Gerry and wife Amy and children (Jessica, Matthew); and brother Ron, as well as numerous great nieces and nephews. She leaves behind her beloved lifelong companion; Sam Termini. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Grace Marchifava Drago and Vincent Drago, her nephew Bryan Drago and great-nephew Christopher Broussard. She was graduate of St. Joseph Academy class of 1948. She worked 30 years for the State Department of Revenue, and after retirement she traveled and loved visiting her brother Ron in California. She was part of many holiday celebrations, family get-togethers and trips to the beach with the Termini family. She enjoyed taking trips with friends from school, spending time with family and dancing with Sam! She enjoyed life. Ida was known for her sense of style and always dressed in the latest fashion. She loved to bake. Her specialty was pies and cream puffs, and Chocolate was her favorite. She was a talented artist and her paintings illuminated the walls of her home. She was a beautiful woman, who Sam often compared to Elizabeth Taylor. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East 11000 Florida Blvd. on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with visitation continuing at St. Thomas More on Friday, October21, 2016 from 10:00am until a funeral mass at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Resthaven Garden of Memory. Special thanks go to the staff of St. Joseph Hospice and to her faithful sitters of over 5 years: Mary Fields, Jynell Hurst, Patricia Lundy and Glenda Warren, and to her neighbor, Karl, who frequently dropped by to check on Ida.
