Greta Sue "Hendrickson" Henisey
Greta Sue (Hendrickson) Henisey, beloved wife and Mother, died peacefully at home on October 15, 2016. Greta was born July 17, 1945, in Bartlesville to Gleason "Bud" and Grace (King) Hendrickson. Greta graduated from College High School in Bartlesville in 1963 and attended Bartlesville Business College. Greta married Larry Henisey in Miami, Ok on December 29, 1971. Larry served as an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper and was transferred to Cleveland, Ok. in 1974. Greta and Larry made their home there until Greta retired in 2000. In 2001, they retired to Bartlesville to be near family. Greta worked for Indian Electric Co-op in Cleveland for 25 years, performing a number of different jobs including executive secretary, supervisor of consumer services and retired as a marketing specialist. Greta served as a past president of the Sooner Appaloosa Club and was active as an FFA parent and honorary member. Greta and Larry enjoyed trips in their RV to Pro Bull Riding events, western/antique shows and to Canton, Tx. Greta was a talented artist and craftsman especially enjoying making western crafts. Greta is a member of a large family which included many aunts and uncles and 42 first cousins. Greta considered family to be God's greatest gift. Greta has published the King Family newsletter for years and maintained and distributed the King Family address list as well as birthday/anniversary lists yearly. Greta is survived by her husband of 45 years, Larry, of the home; daughter Melinda Henisey of Temple, Pa; step-son Mark Henisey and wife Gail of Dupont. Wa; nieces Suzanne Hendrickson of Euless, Tx., Kendra Hendrickson of Chinle, Az, Elizabeth Tarbutton and husband Ron of Stillwater, Tammy Beagles and husband Brian of Ramona, Peggy Grimes and husband Craig of Broken Arrow; nephew Shawn Hendrickson and wife Della of Whitefield; sister-in-laws Linda (List) Hendrickson of Bartlesville, Janice (Pierce) Hendrickson of Delaware, one uncle, Ted King of Lenapah and beloved aunt and best friend, Betty (Thomas) King of Wann.; as well as numerous cousins. Greta was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jim Hendrickson and Lester Hendrickson. Services will be held at Bartlesville First Church, Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 2:00pm with Rev Tari Carbaugh officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Stumpff Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Bartlesville. Family visitation will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Greta's name may be made to Bartlesville First Church Animal Ministry or the American Brain Tumor Association.
