Roland O. Rondeau
Roland O. Rondeau of Dracut, MA DRACUT, MA -- Roland O. Rondeau, passed away Sunday, October 9th, at D'Youville Manor Senior Care Center, Lowell. He was the beloved husband of the late Doris M. (Fisette) Rondeau. Roland was born in Lowell, MA on November 2, 1932, a son of the late Diana (Beaulieu) and Emanuel Rondeau. He served in the U.S. Army as a Pfc(T) in the Korean War, receiving the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He worked as a Police Officer for the Town of Dracut for 13 years and he was also employed by Raytheon, where he worked in the Maintenance Department for over 26 years until his retirement. Roland was a member of Saint Marguerite D'Youville Parish, the Pawtucketville Social Club, the Lowell Elks, the Lawrence Elks, the American Legion, and the NRA. He was a former member of St. Theresa's Men's Guilde as well as a Parishioner at St. Theresa's, now known as St. Marguerite's. He also held membership in the Humane Society of the United States as well as The Sacred Heart League. Roland loved his daughters unconditionally and held a special place in his heart for his granddaughter, Amy, and great-granddaughters, Kim and Roewan. His daughter, Diane, and his son-in-law, Michael, were also his special light and caregivers. Roland is survived by his two daughters and son-in-laws Nancy J.M. Broadwell and her husband Michael (deceased) of Moncks corner, S.C., Diane Y. Grandmaison and her husband Michael of Dracut; granddaughter Amy Broadwell Curl and her husband Joseph; two great-granddaughters Kimberly M. Broadwell, Roewan M. Curl; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roger and Dolly Fisette; and special friends, Al and Pauline Beaulieu; as well as many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his favorite dogs, Mr. Bubbles and Bella, and Nancy's new addition, Rocky, that he loved dearly. The family would also like to thank the nurses and staff of Bayberry at Emerald Court Assisted Living, D'Youville Manor Senior Care, and Care Dimensions Hospice for their wonderful dedication and care. RONDEAU -- A private service will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Roland's name to the Disabled American Veterans Department of Massachusetts, State House, Room 546, Boston, MA 02133.
