Doris was born in Andalusia, Ala., and moved to Gadsden in 1945. She continued to live there until she moved to Trussville in 2014. Doris was a gifted seamstress who enjoyed quilting, crochet, needlepoint, embroidery, and any kind of craft. She was also a faithful member of the East Gadsden United Methodist Church for over 65 years. Doris was a strong woman with a gentle, sweet spirit who walked in faith. Her contagious positivity and perseverance through her failing eyesight gave inspiration to her family and friends. She had a gift of making everyone she encountered feel special. Doris blessed her family with unconditional love and acceptance. Like the wise woman of Proverbs 31, her children stand and bless her. A special thanks to her caregiver and friend, Bessie Mosley, for the loving care she provided our mom.
