In memory of
Patricia Rico, 69 years old, died at Seasons Hospice House in Milton on Thursday, October 13, after a long battle with illness. She was born in Providence, R.I. on May 23, 1947. She is the daughter of the late William and Alfreda (Kulak) Piwowarski. She was educated in Raynham Schools and is a graduate with a BA in Elementary Education from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. Pat is the wife of Carl J. Rico of Raynham, Mass. She is the Mother of daughter Heather (Rico) McNally and her husband Daniel McNally of Raynham, Mass., as well as son Kevin Rico of Taunton, Mass. Pat was a devoted teacher in the Taunton Public Schools for her entire career of 33 years. She loved her students and enjoyed going above and beyond with special projects and activities that would enrich the lives of each and every student. Pat took great pride in her family, getting the most joy out of gathering together, cooking for everyone, and spending time talking and laughing. She was always the most gracious hostess. She also loved cruising with her husband and friends, reading, enjoying good food, and loved watching any type of crime show. Besides her husband and children, Pat is survived by her siblings, Carol (Piwowarski) Fuller and her husband David of Mt. Vernon, Maine, William J Piwowarski and his wife Theresa of Warren, Mass., Henry Piwowarski of Norwood, Mass., and Susan Piwowarski of Taunton, Mass. She is the grandmother (Mammy) to Tyler and Caden McNally of Raynham, Mass. She is the aunt to 5 nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, Pat asked to have donations be made to the Lung Transplant Fund, Brigham and Womens Hospital, Development Office, 75 Francis St., Boston, MA 02115. Relatives and friends invited to attend a funeral from the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave. (Route 138 South), Taunton on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St Anns Church, Raynham at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Tuesday, Oct. 18, from 4 - 8 p.m. Interment St Joseph Cemetery.
