In memory of
Lynette E. Ruetz
Lynette E. Ruetz 1937 - 2016 79, of Massillon, passed away peacefully with her children at her side, on Thursday evening, Oct. 13, 2016. Born in Canton, Sept. 5, 1937, a daughter to the late Ernest and Clarissa (Felio) Ruetz, Lynette graduated from Massillon Washington High School and Kent State University. Early in her professional career she worked in Milwaukee and later in Massillon as a kindergarten teacher. She was also a licensed insurance agent and worked with her father in the family business, the Ruetz Agency. More recently, and until her retirement, she worked in the housewares department of JC Penny at Canton Centre Mall. Wherever life took her, Lynette remained a faithful Tiger fan. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and surfing the internet for the latest news and current events. Also an avid reader, she often found the quiet tranquility of her screened in porch the perfect spot to relax and open a book. A loving mom, grandma, great-grandma and aunt, Lynette is predeceased by her parents and her sister, Kathleen Ruetz Henderson. She is survived by her children, Richard (Tamela) Hardman, of 29 Palms, Calif., Clarice (Steve) DiRuzza, of Alliance and Michelle (Kim) Coates, of Massillon. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 12 nieces and nephews; and her treasured friend, Judy Wigginton, of Canal Fulton. Lynette will be honored by her family and friends in a celebration of her life at 5 p.m. Wednesday evening, Oct. 19, 2016, at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon. Visitation will precede the service from 3:30- 5 p.m. in the funeral home. Private burial will follow.
