Jack Oliver Cornish
Jack Oliver Cornish, 82, of Lake Stevens, Wash., died October 13, 2016. He is now resting peacefully after battling the demons of dementia. Jack was born on July 30, 1934, in Lake Stevens. He was the only child of Fred and Eunice Cornish and was proud of being a native of Lake Stevens born on Hartford Drive. He graduated from Lake Stevens High School in 1953 and lived most of his life in Lake Stevens. He married Joyce Ford on October 30, 1954. That marriage produced two glowing sources of pride: His daughter, Cherie Cornish-Spies and his son, Steven Cornish. In 1984, while working for a small logging company he met his current wife, Carol Rogers-Cornish. They were married February 26, 1990. They spent 32 years together as best friends and partners in life. She will deeply miss him. He was a longtime member of the Granite Falls Sportsman's Club and was an avid clay pigeon shooter, hunter, and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his father and mother. He is survived by his children, Steven (Peggy) Cornish, Cherie (Bill) Spies; his best friend, John Carter; and his loving wife, Carol Cornish. Viewing and visitation will be held at Purdy & Walters with Cassidy, 1702 Pacific Avenue, Everett, WA 98201 on Monday October 17, 2016, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, 2111 - 117th Ave NE, Lake Stevens, WA 98258 on Tuesday October 18, 2016, at 1:00 p.m.
