Francis Cantrell "Jo" Watson
Francis "Jo" Cantrell Watson Francis "Jo" Cantrell Watson passed away on Saturday October 8th at her home in Montclair. She was at peace and surrounded by family. Jo was born on October 21st 1931 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Olena Smalling and Arbon Hannon Cantrell. In 1936 her family moved to California as part of the "Dust Bowl" era. Her father got work at Kaiser Steel and her family settled in the Inland Empire where Jo lived for the remainder of her life. Jo graduated from Chaffey High School in 1949. She soon married Jack Derho, a marine. Together they had two daughters, Linda and Debra. In 1961 she married John Crater Jr in Las Vegas and had Joelle, Jo's youngest daughter. In 1981 Jo married Tom Watson and moved into the house on Orchard and Fremont where she lived until her passing. Jo worked as a model and cocktail waitress but her true devotion in life was tending to her three daughters. Along with her beloved parents she cared for her younger brother Fred when he was paralyzed in a construction accident. Jo was highly energetic and always the life of the party. She loved making trips to Las Vegas with friends and family members. She hosted a Christmas Eve celebration that brought all of her family together each year. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Linda Sapien, Debra Howell, Joelle Crater Winnen, 4 grandchildren, Brian Sapien, Brigette Staley, Marin Rieger, and Brennen Nunnally, 6 great grandchildren, Summer Baca, Marisa Staley, Kaleb and Brody Sapien, Levi and Spencer Rieger, and her 3 great great grandchildren, Lilly Staley, Collin and Craig Baca. She was preceded in death by her 2 brothers Bill Cantrell and Fred Cantrell. Her combination of strong opinions and stunning good looks made Jo a true force to be reckoned with. She will be most remembered for the endless devotion she bestowed upon her family. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Services will be held on Monday October 17th at noon, viewing at 10:00am, at Richardson Peterson Funeral Home in Ontario. A gathering will be held at Jo's home afterward.
